IBPS PO recruitment Notification 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
  • Candidates must be born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive)

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years relaxation
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years relaxation
  • Ex-Servicemen/Commissioned Officers (min. 5 years military service): 5 years relaxation

Educational Qualification (as on 21.07.2026)

  • A degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
  • Candidates must have a valid mark sheet/degree certificate proving graduate status on the day of registration and must indicate their graduation percentage while applying online.
  • The final result must have been declared on or before 21.07.2026.

Nationality

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African/other countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (eligibility certificate from the Govt. of India required).

IBPS PO Application Fee 2026

Here is category wise application fee under IBPS PO Recruitment Notification 2026

  • SC/ST/PwBD candidates: ₹175 (inclusive of GST)
  • All other candidates (General/OBC/EWS): ₹850 (inclusive of GST)
  • Payment mode: Online only (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, IMPS, UPI, Mobile Wallets)
  • Bank transaction charges, if any, must be borne by the candidate.

IBPS PO recruitment notification 2026 Selection Process

  • Stage 1 – Online Preliminary Examination: Objective test, qualifying in nature.
  • Stage 2 – Online Main Examination: Objective + Descriptive test; marks count toward final merit.
  • Stage 3 – Personality Test: A self-report test, mandatory to attend but non-qualifying in nature; results are shared with the interview panel.
  • Stage 4 – Interview: Conducted by Participating Banks, coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/UT.
  • Stage 5 – Provisional Allotment: Based on merit-cum-preference and actual vacancies reported by banks.

Final merit is based on Main Exam + Interview marks in an 80:20 weightage ratio. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates).

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2026 (Revised)

Preliminary Examination (Objective Test) — 1 Hour Total

  • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes (English medium)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes (English & Hindi)
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 40 marks, 20 minutes (English & Hindi)
  • Total: 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes

Candidates must qualify in each section by securing the minimum cut-off marks decided by IBPS.

Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive) — 2 Hours 40 Minutes Total

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes (English & Hindi)
  • General/Economy/Banking/Digital/Financial Awareness (incl. RBI circulars): 50 questions, 60 marks, 35 minutes (English & Hindi)
  • English Language: 40 questions, 20 marks, 35 minutes (English only)
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 40 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes (English & Hindi)
  • Descriptive Paper (Essay & Comprehension): 2 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes (English only)
  • Total: 170 objective questions + descriptive paper, 200 marks, 160 minutes

Note the revised weightage: Reasoning now carries 40 marks in Prelims (up from the earlier pattern), while Quantitative Aptitude carries 30 marks — a notable shift from previous cycles.

Negative Marking

  • 0.25 marks (1/4th) deducted for each wrong answer in objective sections.
  • No penalty for unattempted questions.

Personality Test & Interview

  • Personality Test: Self-report format, mandatory for interview eligibility, non-qualifying, may be conducted in proctored online mode or at designated centres.
  • Interview: 100 marks total; conducted by Participating Banks.

Documents Required at Interview/Document Verification

  • Printout of valid Interview Call Letter
  • Printout of the online application form
  • Proof of Date of Birth (birth certificate or Class X certificate)
  • Valid Photo ID proof (PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Aadhaar, etc. — Ration Card and Learner’s Licence are NOT accepted)
  • Graduation mark sheets/certificates
  • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates, in prescribed format)
  • Income & Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates)
  • Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates, issued by District Medical Board)
  • Ex-servicemen: Service/Discharge book, pension payment order, rank proof
  • No Objection Certificate (for candidates already employed in Govt./PSU/Bank jobs)
  • Experience certificates, if applicable

  • Click on the “CRP PO/MT” link on the homepage.
  • Select “Click Here to Apply Online for CRP-Probationary Officers/Management Trainees (CRP-PO/MT-XVI).”
  • Click “Click Here for New Registration” and enter basic details (name, email, mobile number).
  • Note the Provisional Registration Number and Password generated (also sent via SMS/Email).
  • Log in and fill in personal, educational, and category details carefully.
  • Upload the required documents:
  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Left thumb impression
  • Hand-written declaration
  • SSC/SSLC/10th standard or equivalent certificate
  • Live photograph captured via webcam or mobile phone
  • Indicate your order of preference for Participating Banks (this cannot be changed later).

Key Selection Process Notes

  • The relative weightage of Main Exam and Interview is 80:20.
  • Scores from the Preliminary Exam are not counted in final merit — only qualifying.
  • A reserve list of approximately 20% of vacancies in each category may be maintained.
  • This is an All-India cadre; provisionally allotted candidates may be posted anywhere in India (or outside India) at the bank’s discretion.
  • Provisional allotment does not constitute a guaranteed offer of employment; it is subject to document verification and medical fitness.
