Nabard Development Assistant Recruitment 2026 Overview
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development an apex financial Institution in India has released an official notification for total 162 vacancies for Development Assistant and Development Assistant Hindi. NABARD Development Assistant Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
(As on 01/01/2026)
Development Assistant: Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. (Pass class is sufficient for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates).
Development Assistant (Hindi): Bachelor’s Degree in English/Hindi medium with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject with a minimum of 50% marks (Pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS) OR Bachelor’s Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects with min 50% marks.
Note: Candidates must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice-versa.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing on a PC is mandatory for both posts.
Age Limit (As on 01/01/2026)
Minimum Age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 35 Years
Birth Date Range: Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 January 1991 and not later than 01 January 2005 (both days inclusive).
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: 5 Years
OBC: 3 Years
PWBD: 10 to 15 Years
Ex-Servicemen: As per Government Rules.
NABARD Development assistant 2026 salary
The financial package is one of the biggest attractions of this job. Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of 20700 - 55700.
- Basic Pay: ₹23,100/- per month (includes two advance increments).
- Gross Monthly Emoluments: Approximately ₹46,500/-.
- Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance, and Transport Allowance are applicable as per rules.

Selection Process:
The selection process is designed to filter the best talent through a two-tier online examination system followed by a language test.
Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
This serves as a screening test. Marks obtained here are not counted for the final merit list.
- Subjects: English Language, Numerical Ability/Professional Knowledge, Reasoning.
- Total Questions: 100
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 60 Minutes
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
Phase II: Main Examination (Online)
This is the merit-deciding round. Performance here determines your final selection.
- Objective Test (150 Marks): Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude (or Professional Knowledge for Hindi post), General Awareness (Agriculture, Rural Development & Banking focus), Computer Knowledge.
- Descriptive Test (50 Marks): Test of English Language comprising Essay, Précis, and Report/Letter Writing.
- Total Duration: 90 Minutes (Objective) + 30 Minutes (Descriptive).
Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates selected from the Main Exam must undergo a Language Proficiency Test in the Official Language of the State they applied for. This is qualifying in nature.
- Exemption: Candidates who have passed 10th or 12th standard with the declared language as one of the subjects are exempt (valid proof required).
