Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)

Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age as on 1st July 2026, i.e. born not earlier than 02.07.1996 and not later than 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive).

Steps to Fill the IBPS SO Application Form 2026

Here is a step-by-step procedure to help candidates fill out the IBPS SO notification 2026 application form.

1. Visit the official website of IBPS, i.e. www.ibps.in.
2. On the Home Page, click on the link “CRP SPL”.
3. Click on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP-SPECIALIST OFFICERS (CRP SPL-XVI)”.
4. Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and enter your basic information to register.
5. Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password generated by the system.
6. Log in again using the registration number and password to complete the form.
7. Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration and other required documents as per specifications.
8. Pay the application fee/intimation charges online.
9. Verify all details and click “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” to submit the application.

IBPS SO Selection Process 2026

The IBPS SO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process includes three stages: Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination and a Common Interview. Candidates must clear all three stages to be finally selected for a Specialist Officer post.

• Stage 1: Online Preliminary Examination – Candidates are tested on English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Professional Knowledge (or General Awareness in place of Quantitative Aptitude for Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari posts). Candidates must clear the cut-off in each test to be shortlisted.
• Stage 2: Online Main Examination – Includes English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude/General Awareness, Professional Knowledge (Objective), and a Descriptive Paper (for certain posts). Merit listing is based on Professional Knowledge scores.
• Stage 3: Common Interview – Conducted by the Participating Banks and coordinated by the Nodal Bank, carrying 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates). The Main Examination and Interview carry a weightage of 80:20 respectively.

IBPS SO notification 2026 Exam Pattern – Preliminary Examination

For IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer:

For Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari, Quantitative Aptitude is replaced by “General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry” (25 questions, 25 marks, 20 minutes), with the same overall structure and totals.

IBPS SO 2026 Exam Pattern – Main Examination

The Main Examination duration and structure vary by post, ranging from 125 to 155 minutes and 200 to 225 total marks, and include a Descriptive Paper for Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari posts.

IBPS SO Salary Structure 2026
